On May 1st basketball fans got more than they bargained for at Cal Anderson Park in Seattle, Washington.

Onlookers and a TV crew watched in amazement as an unidentified shirtless man wielding a claw hammer got stuck upside down in a basketball hoop.

A group of police officers surrounded the crazed man in an attempt to disarm him and get him down from the basketball hoop.

Two firefighters attempted to use a ladder to release the man, only to have it kicked away numerous times, eventually the police hold the man’s legs and arms allowing the rescue services to cut him free.

Seattle Police tweeted that the man “may be arrested for property destruction, or at least goal-tending.”
