The Boryeong Mud Festival is an annual festival that takes place in Boryeong, South Korea. The mud used is from Daecheon beach and is considered rich in minerals and widely used in the manufacturing of cosmetics.
The festival normally takes place in the first two weeks of July with the final weekend party held at the end. Activities include mud pool, mud skiing, mud prison, mud slides and colored mud body painting. There is also a marketplace that provides beauty clinics, acupuncture and other treatments using the medicinal qualities of the mud.
