What These Loving Parents Did For Their Beautiful Daughter Is Truly Remarkable

We would all like to think that we would do almost anything for our kids, but sometimes, parent’s dedication goes even further than you could possible imagine. Two such parents are Tanya and Adam Phillips who recently did something remarkable just to ensure that their daughter, Honey-Rae never felt alone or different.

Honey-Rae was born with a large red birthmark spanning the entire length of her tiny leg. Her parents feared that, because of the birthmark, that Honey-Rae would feel like the odd one out and as she grew up would feel all alone.

So to ensure that their daughter would never feel this way, the loving parents both had their daughters full-leg birthmark skilfully copied and tattooed onto their own legs.

Although to most parents this would seem like quite an extreme commitment , but to Tanya and Adam it was a perfectly natural choice. “Like any Mum I didn’t want her to be different,” Tanya told the Mirror. “I wanted her to be exactly the same as every other healthy child. And as much as the birthmark isn’t dangerous I knew it could have a huge impact on the rest of her life.”

When Honey-Rae was first born her parents decided to keep her legs covered up, but as she got a little older and the warmer weather arrived Tanya decided to put shorts on her. It was at this point during a shopping trip that she first started to notice people staring and pointing at her daughters leg, this was extremely upsetting for the loving mother who after a long discussion with Adam came to the conclusion that the only way to make Honey-Rae feel more comfortable and unashamed would be if they both had the same marks tattooed onto their own legs.

Honey-Rae even though she is still quite young, seems to like the fact that her leg matches that of her parents. “When the swelling went down, I showed Honey-Rae, and she gently touched it and smiled as she said ‘Match,’ pointing to her own leg,” Tanya describes.

The Phillipses realise that some people may think their body modifications extreme, but the way they like to see it is now their daughter feels a little less alone in the world.
